I just returned from a 3 week surfing vacation in the Philippines. In my 22 year career selling real estate I’ve never taken so much time off. Two years ago, I took 8 days off to surf in Mexico, and last year I wanted to go again but the year started off with a bang. I was fast on my way to become the top producer in my San Rafael Coldwell Banker office in 2025, and #14 out of 1400 listing agents in our Coldwell Banker region. I’m hoping to travel extensively very year moving forward during the slow seasons, if my business allows it.
While I was away this time, I closed escrow on 65 Circle Rd in Los Ranchitos. The day before I left, I signed a new listing at 89 Forest Lane in Terra Linda, which should be coming soon to the market. I’m partnering with another agent on Forest because there was a lot of prep work to do while I was away. I’ve got a Terra Linda Eichler coming on the market in March. That’s the thing about going on vacation as a Realtor, generally when you go away the phone starts ringing and people start expressing interest in buying and selling.
This morning, my second morning back home, I received an email from a client wanting to sell her Marinwood condo and buy a TIC in the City. This is all good news! I love selling real estate. It’s exciting, and I get a lot of fulfillment out of helping people in my capacity as a sales person. At least once a year though I’m going to need time away to recharge and refresh. While I was always this time, I didn’t bring my computer which is why you haven’t seen a fresh blog in 3 weeks.
While I was away, I was doing some work on my phone for the first two weeks, then I got locked out of my email. Having coffee at a local spot I explained my dilemma to the barista, who advised me to relax, ‘you’re of vacation.’ She gave me the permission I needed not to worry about the barrage of emails that inevitably awaited me when I got home. I’m grateful for that time I was completely unplugged, and while on vacation I read 5 books.
I’m back now, and I’m eager to be of assistance to my clients!
