PG&E Discount and AI Drivel

Our gas and electricity bills are out of control and they aren’t going to get any cheaper moving forward. Recently one of my clients let me know about the CARE (California Alternative Rates for Energy) discount program with PG&E. You can qualify by income or by being enrolled in a qualifying public assistance program.

How much can you save? 38% on electricity and 20% on gas. That’s a lot of savings, so it’s worth it to look into the program. Click on the link to learn more.

More AI Drivel

We all know the AI revolution is upon us. Everyone says that AI is going to make our work easier, but I’ve found that at least in this stage of the game the quality of work can suffer. Take for instance the Realtor who relies on AI to do a market analysis for a client here in Terra Linda. AI doesn’t know the difference between builders.

There is a significant price difference between Eichlers, Alliances, Kenney and Tarrant built homes. AI doesn’t know it and can’t quantify it. AI knows square footage, beds and baths and lot sizes. That’s all very helpful in general, but it also doesn’t know the condition of the home either. It doesn’t know the quality of the views or the relative desirability of the street. Another Realtor recently showed me an AI analysis that they generated in no time at all. It may have saved the Realtor from doing the heavy lifting, or any lifting at all. I didn’t find the analysis worth the paper it was printed on.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m using AI. It’s just not replacing my own experience in the market. Yet.

Chat GTP Rating  One last word on AI. It's really not all bad. This afternoon I asked Chat GTP who the best Realtor to use for either buying or selling a home in Terra Linda, CA. Three Realtors are listed for both categories. I come up first in both categories. That's how a recent client found me. So I really shouldn't be complaining about AI. It probably knows I've been dissing it, and maybe it's trying to make nice? Actually I've had this result before and had someone else ask their Chat GPT, only for them to get a different answer. Which leads me to ask, how reliable is the information we are getting from AI? Again, I shouldn't complain. As long as I'm in the rotation, I'm grateful for the free exposure.
